With a new year comes excitement to create new beginnings and to make this year better than the last. A new year is a reminder that you can move forward, reach your goals, and accomplish your dreams.
Whether you’ve been a Virtual Assistant for years or you’re just starting your business, resolve to make 2020 your best year yet.
As you start to think about what you want to accomplish in 2020, spend time reflecting on the past year. Research suggests that when professionals take the time to reflect on their experience, it makes them more productive and “builds one’s confidence in the ability to achieve a goal.”
In your Virtual Assistant business, what went well? What worked for you? Where did you struggle? In what areas do you think you can make improvements in 2020?
If you’re just starting or are considering starting a Virtual Assistant business, what in your life prompted you to make the change? How do you want to build your business to allow you to attain a fulfilling life?
As you reflect, use that knowledge to establish a plan for 2020 that encompasses not only the goals you want to achieve, but that also focuses on making improvements that allow you to prosper in business and in life.
As you consider your goals for your Virtual Assistant business, it’s important to really take the time to think them through and create a plan to achieve them. Making SMART goals—specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound—provides a format that helps you set realistic objectives for your business.
What goals do you want to focus on in 2020? Maybe you want to make a certain amount of money by the end of the year. Perhaps you want to add a specific number of clients to your client base.
As you consider your aspirations, set goals that scare you and that will push you out of your comfort zone. It is with these goals that will drive your business beyond what you thought imaginable and make you look back on 2020 with a feeling of intense pride in what you achieved.
Additionally, as you journey through 2020, take the time to reflect on the progress of your goals and adjust where necessary. Acknowledge the milestones along the way and give yourself a moment to celebrate even the smallest of successes.
As you work to achieve your goals, marketing your Virtual Assistant services becomes an integral part of your business plan. Because it’s so easy to get overwhelmed with all the marketing options available, narrow your focus to marketing solutions that will help you achieve your goals.
Market intentionally to your target market. Instead of using a marketing strategy because it’s popular or new, focus on strategies that will reach your target market. For example, if your target market is most prevalently on a specific social media platform, market there.
As the 2020 approaches, tap into potential clients’ desires to achieve more this year than they did last year.
Illustrate how your Virtual Assistant services will allow them to achieve their goals. How will hiring you make the lives of your clients easier? What problem can you help them solve?
Offering incentives is an investment that brings in a new client and grows your business, but they also show potential clients that you’re committed to helping them achieve their goals.
Additionally, show your gratitude and appreciation to your current client base by thanking them for their business, communicating that you’re excited about helping them achieve their goals in the new year, and possibly gifting them a gift certificate to use towards their next invoice. Even small gestures make clients feel appreciated and valued. And it expresses your dedication to helping them achieve their goals.
